overview

Walmart is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. We were commissioned to budget, design, and lead a large restructuring effort that transformed the organization’s retail operations management strategy, structure, and composition. This included the organizational design for multiple retail formats, the redesign of individual management roles, routines, and processes to ensure alignment.

The 18-month project was the largest in Walmart Canada’s history, involving over 3,000 impacted retail management associates at 395 unique worksites. We later supported the organization as they restructured their HR operations in a similar fashion, centralizing select HR functions, introducing robust people analytics, and reengineering processes to ensure relevance.

RESULTS

Restructured retail operations management for Walmart Canada’s $22B business.

The project experienced no delays and was delivered $5M under its $74M budget.
